Dragon Hat 2The young, teenaged girl sat in her room. She browsed through her photo album, looking at all her pictures from last years Comic Con. There was an estimate twenty photos at the very least. As she flipped to the last page, the final picture really caught her eye. With her right index finger, she carefully removed the picture from the album, bringing it closer to her as she continued to look at it, almost entranced by it.
It was a picture of a small dragon. This dragon was dressed up like a young boy. It wore a red hat that barely covered its head, the little dragons horns holding its hat in place. Its shirt looked like it would rip apart any moment from the creatures body mass. No pants were present on the small dragon. The dragons older brother was present in the picture as he helped his little brother stand on two legs, like a human. The little dragon flashed a toothy, draconic smile. An innocent yet impish smile by comparison. It was the kind of smile that cou
The OrphansIn the small town of Devonsville, lived a group of orphans. The age range between the orphans varied. The youngest was four while the oldest was twelve. The tragic thing was that they were all very young kids. Many of which never even knew their parents' faces. Each orphan had a different story to tell. Many came from different walks of life but eventually, ended up together. SOme orphans lost their parents in an accident. Some were given up. Some were even abandoned, like the leader of the orphans, Jack.
Jack was twelve years old. And because he was the oldest, he was their unoffical leader. He was in charge of all the other orphans and was to make sure they were taken care of and treated properly by the others.
A kind of code among the orphans was that when one of them leaves, the oldest after the previous leader shall take over and protect and take care of the others. In this case, it was Jack who was to be named the next leader. Ironically, the previous leader was actually the one
The Birthday DragonJohnny's birthday was coming soon. In fact, literally soon! In less than two days, Johnny would be turning 17. Despite that he was getting older, he didn't feel any older.
Friday was finally over. After finishing up his homework, Johnny went to bed. It was already 12:05 AM. He hadn't pulled an allnighter in a long time. The birthday boy lay on his bed and quickly fell asleep.
The next day, Johnny's brother, Carlos screamed at him to get up. Johnny drearily got out of bed, still half-asleep. Carlos never wakes up this early, nonetheless earlier than Johnny himself.
"What up?" Johnny asked. His parents as well as his 20 year old brother and 13 year old brother were all up already.
"Well son." His dad began. "We all wanted to give you an early birthday present."
Johnny's mom went to the living room and got his gift. When she returned, she was holding a vial. Within the contents of the vile was a potion.
"Mom? What's that?" Johnny asked, unenthused by his strange gift.
"It's a potion that
dead dog julyI.
the summer heat lays limp in the city’s lap,
breathing long oppressive breaths.
it does not even lift its lolling head
to bark out hoarse indignancy
when a strange man brings the mail.
there might be heavy rain today,
brought by some swollen, murmuring cloud.
the world will whirl and howl,
then settle down,
to die a little more.
o, quickly, love,
press your back against the wall in fear
as the universe spreads her arms and
shuts her eyes
and starts to summon the end of all things.
come with me
to the place of windows full of speechless afternoon
hot windy whispers of half-formed solutions and resolutions,
sweltering sunlit meadows we’ll wander and then forget.
o quickly, love,
let’s to the season of forgetting
and unwind all of our harshest memories
and fill the universe’s mouth
with mute cotton.
i’ll whisper these words to you some evening
with all my exigency in the hand i rest on your arm—
AndromedaAmongst the darkened skies
Brightened by only starlight
Field & Sea.
Gravity is only an afterthought
Hilltops become ladders into the sky while
Inferior planets stare down upon the Earth
Jealous of such simplicity yet contemplating grandeur.
Keppler only thought of science
Linear, elliptical, movement…
Mythology had no such thoughts
Neptune & Nebulas both inhabit space
Orbiting across the lonely darkness
Probably never worried about mundane things
Questioning their existence
Right now or for all eternity such as us.
Shooting stars make us joyful while
Terminator is an otherworldly spectacle
Unknown to all those hidden in their houses
Various stars await us outside
Waiting to play like we did before
Xenagogue & inviting
Youthful but ancient curiosities.
Zenith induced euphoria continues until daylight…
